A meeting of the township council of the township of Euphrasia was held pursuant to adjournment on the first day of February, 1883. Members ull present except Mr. Ellis. JVlinutes of last session of council read and confirmed. The report of the Reeve and Depu- ty-Reeve, m reference to John Kerr vs. this Corporation, laid before coun- cil. The Reeve and Deputy Reevo were instructed to defend the case, and the Treasurer ordered to furnish the Deputy- Reeve with the necessary lunds. Tlie report of the Reeve and Deputy Reeve, in reference to the Treasurers securities, laid before coimcil, showing that after due exammation all mat- ters pertaining to the yalidity of tho Treasurer and his secuiities are in a satisfactory condition. The resignation of Rnbt. Mylep, Esq., as Reeve, was laid before council %nd accepted. The Deputy -Reeve took the chair. The Treasurer was ordered to remit to R. Myles, EB*(r;ihb sum of $8.60, for Services rendered to this munici- pality. By-law 328, providing for the in- demnity of the council, carried through the different stages and passed. The Deputy- Reeve's order wss is- sued on the Treasurer in favor cf R. Dunlop, Clerk, fur $7.90, being for registering births, marriages and deaths for the year 1882. On motion of Pfftteison and Boyd the time of tlie Collectors to make 'heir returns was extended until the firt-t of April next and no longer, tho (Jlerk to notify the Collectors to this effect.
