A large dep- utation of citizens from Fesherton, Markdale, Pricewille and Durham attended the hearing, but was not required to address tihe Board. Judge Robb, chairman, stated that the ap- plication for ' the license was im- properly presented and out of order. No further appeal can be made for a period of one year. Two New Teachers For Fleshertcm High School Following the resignation of Miss L. Bier and Mr. J. W. Johnston from the jtaff of the local high school, two new teachers has been engaged by the Board: Miss E. Heron of Scarboro Junction and Mr. E. M. Juffs of Beaverton. Both are this year's gradoiates of the College of Education and come highly rec- ommended. Last week Miss Bier was present- ed with a table lamp and Mr. Johns- ton was the recipient of a Ronson lighter, with the best wishes of the students. Miss Bier will teach at Whitby next year and Mr. Johnston at Orillia. The Home of Tasty Baking I I Eugenia W. A. Meeting •â- The Eugenia Woman's Association met at the home of Mrs. W. Gordon for the May meeting, with a good attendance. Mrs. Thos. Stewart was presented with a gift from the W.A. on leaving the community for her new home at Arnott. Mrs. Pirilcer- ton conducted a contest, which was won by Mrs. A. Macpherson. Mrs. E. Breadner sang "If Jesus Toes with me I'll go. Mrs. Macpherson gave a reading, a new member. Mlrs. H. Boettger, was welcomed to the society. The June meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. M. Phillips. Local Fire Brigade Saved Ceylon Home From Fire Tlie Flesherton volunteer fire bri- (jade answered a call to Ceylon on Thursday evening to the home ol Mr. Elmer Muir.
