Besides a daugiiter, Lila, and son, Luther, she leaves to mourn a si»ter, Mrs. Jane MoOluney, of Fenelon Falls, Ont. Her husiband, WiMiam J. Love, prodecesed her by alnwst a year. Deceased was held in hiph esteem by friends at Portlaw and Bejikeley where she had lived. Interment was made in Mt. Zion Cemetery. The THOMPSONS are busy as bees, getting tli»'ir place in shape for the tourist season. This year, with three more cabins, electricity and a modernized kitchen, they hope to do even better than before. They were able to make these ad- ditions because last fall Mr. Thompson drove to town to see his bank manager. He knew about the nice little business the Thompsons had built up; a bank loan wa!< quickly arranged. Now the Thompsons can handle more tourists and increase their income. At the same time Canada will benefit from the extra tourist dollars thev take in. The pastor, Rev W. M. Lee, acted as leader and de- livered an appixupriate message. Hf also conducted a baptismal service when the infant children of Mr. anc Mrs. Russell Harvey and Mr. anc Mrs. L. Reid were baptized. Read- ings were given by Pau4 Rogers and Dennis Sinclair and a hildren's <Shoii led in the service of song. A beau- tiful lavender hydrangia graced tht altar, in mennory of the late Mrs. F R. Boland, placed there by the faimaly. The May meetiirg of the Woman's Association was held Wednesday ol last week at the parsonage in Mark- dale, when Mrs. Lee was hostess to the Vandeleur W.A. Arbor Day was observed at the Eschool one day last week, after hav- ing been postponed several times by tihe inclement weather. The big event of the afternoon was a softball .game between Vandeleur and Oheesevillc school teains, the former winning y quite a margin. Looks like an- other champion ball teaim is in tht miaking.
