PuWishcri Dr. Sherman Piper To Practice In Clarksburg Dr. Sherman Piper of the Christie Street Hospital staff, Toronto, at present, has agreed to come to Clarkfeburg and commence a medical practice in this community. Dr. Piiper, who comes highly recommend- ed, was in Clarksburg on Saturday â- with his father and completed the residential deal by which he acquires the fine home and lot off Miss Con- stance Alexander on Mar^h Street. POTATO STORAGE In determining the size of storage space required to store a given quan- tity of potatos, the estimate may be based on forty pounds of potatoes (tubers) per cubic foot of storage space. HoUingshead Home Destroyed At Feversham (By Feversham Reporter) The fine bricli residence of ill'. Fred HoUingshead, on the 10th line, Osprey, was totally destroyed by fire on Saturday morning last, together with most of the content's. The loss is estimated to be over $2,500. It is believed that the blaze originated from a sparli from the chimney on the dry roof and, fanned by a strong wind, was soon out of control shortly after being discovered. Excavated For Houses Mes'srs. John Brackenbui-y and W. A. Morton excavated the cellars for their new residences which they are erecting this summer. Mr. Brack- enbury''s new residence will be on Hie west side of Sydenham 'street, immediately north of the bridge, and Mr. Morton's will be on the east side of Toronto street on the lot he pur- chased several years ago. 147th Battalion Dinner League Softball Games Two games have been played in the South Grey Softball League. Vandeleur defeated Fle'sherton last week 20-17 and Tuesday evening of this week Rock Mills \valked away with their game against Feversham. The first game in the town soft- ball league was played Monday between Hill and Park, the former winning a free-hitting contest 22-21. 'Happy Helpers' Gave Concert In Church Recently the "Happy Helpers" group of the C-G-I.T. held an open meeting in the basement of the church, to which everyone was in- vited. The girls prepared an excell- ent pi'ogram. including piano solos, piano duet, two-part 'songs, a puppet show and '•>â- "Mellerdramer" Every member had a part and they were assisted by one of the senior group, the progi'am 'asting an hour. -Five of the mothers were present and five other adults, also Marion Stuart. The basque bodice pannelled with insets of sherring wafe accented by a sweetheart neckline, and the full skirt extended into a slight train. Her long veil fell from a headdress of braided satin and helo in place by tiny satin ix)!sebuds. She wore white kid sandals and around her neck wore pearls.
