Mr and Mrs. Mlandsley of Toronto recently purchased the home in the village, formerly owned by Mrs. N. Gilchriist and have moved into the Gilchrist home. We welcome Mr. and Mrs. Mandsley to the village. Messrs. Wm. Meads and Rofbt. Meads of Toronto spent the week end at their respective homes. Miss Marie Meadfe returned with them to Toronto on Sunday, later going to Tottenham the first of the week, tak' ing a position as op.rator of the Bell Telephone there. Mrs. Edgar Doupe and little daugh- ter, Joan, visited friends in Toronto last week and while there visited Santa Claus in Simpson's Toyland and Joan had the pleasure of shaking handls with the jolly Santa Claus. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. C-airns, Colleen and Howard spent Sunday with friends at Holland Centre. Mr. and Mr.s. Lyons and son, Cliff- ord, Toronto; Mrs. Campbell and sons, Messrs. Geo7-ge and Bob Wat- son of Toronto were recent visitors with Mrs. Geo. Jaynes and daughter Sandra. Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Wright and The Ladiete' Aid will hold their re- cent visitors with Mrs. Doug. Bull- ock, Mrs. Eric Oliver and little daughter, Dianne and Miss Muriel Squaire of Toronto spent the past wecik with Mrfe. Joseph Oliver and R. C Oliver. (Mr. Jas. EUGENIA Miss Eleanor Proctor had the mis- fortune to have her knee injured one day last week at school. We wish her a speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. D. V. Emans (nee Ilene Sloan) of Chatham visited re- cently at the Proctor home. Mr. Hobson of the H.E.P.C. spent the week end at his home in Toron- to. Mr. R. Harper of the H.E.P.C, ow- ing to impaired health returned to his home in Welland on Mondaj-. Messrs. Ernie Proctor and Ted Burton have returned home from a hunting trip up north. Mrs. W. D. While here they were guests of Mr. Jeke Williams, who ac- com^panied them on some of their hunting trips. They returned home on Sunday, but were disappointed as they were not lucky in securing a deer. Mr. Ben Shortt of Toronto spent the week end with Mr. Chas. Will- iams. Xichol pre- sided over the meeting. "What a Friend We Have In Jesus.'' was sung followed by repeating the Lord's Prayer. The president, gave a splendid reading, "Me or You." ROCK MILLS ALFALFA SEED TO EASTERN CANADA Because there is insufficient alfal- fa seed to meet the normal seeding requirements in Eastern Canada in 19-i<j. the Dominion Department of .\grieulture has announced that the earlot freight rate from Winnipeg to Eastern points on shipments of such seed will be paid, but only on ship- ments approved by the Seeds .\dmin- istrator, Ottawa, prior to shipment. Noiinally the surplus of alfalfa seed produced in Western Canad is ex- [wrted to the United Stwtes. Fred Partridge has arrived home from overseas and is at pre- sent at his home here. Several men are employed by the Durham Furniture Co. at bush work, cutting logs. The logs are being trucked to the mill by Geo. .Dobson. KIMBERLEY The Quarterly official board of the United Church will take place on Monday, December 3, in Kimberley, at 2 p.m. The W. .A., will meet on Dec. 4th. at 2:30 p.m. The W.
