THE FLBSHMtTON ADVANCE Wednesday, September 1. 1943 . . KIMBERLEY Mrs. E. LeBarge of Brantford and Cleveland visited a week with lira. S. S. Burritt and Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Graham. She is a relative of the Burritt families. Mrs. W. H. Thunton, Miss Dell .and Master Kenneth Wylde, grand- son of Dr. F. A. Thurston, Chicago, made a pleasant call on Mrs. S. S. ' Burritt during the week. Kenneth's home is at Elmhurst, 111., from where he travelled to Flesherton by himself jecently. We are sorry to report little Mari- lyn Burritt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. E. Burritt, falling from the swing beam in the barn breaking her arm near the shoulder. After treatment by Dr. Milne, he advised taking her to the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, where she was taken Monday for examination. Mrs. R. Rehill and Joyce returned to Toronto Sunday evening on their vayway home to Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. Mervyn Ellis, G. Jenkins of the R. CJV..F., and Miss Lesta Gilbert spent the week end here. Mr. and Mrs. E. Kirfcpatrick and family visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. J. Kirkpatrick. 'Mr. Jack Taylor of Oshawa is pending his holidays with Mrs. Jas. Lawrence and other friends. Miss Edna Burritt of Toronto is spending a two week holidays with her mother and friends here. Mrs. Millward and Mr. and Mrs. Sutherland visited Mr. R. H. Staff- ord for a week. Mrs. Stanley Lawrence of Larder Lake visited Mrs. Jas. Lawrence and Mrs. E. Dillon for a few days. Aircraftman Harold Graham and Aaircraftman Garnet Baker are on lenve before going to an East coast destination. Thursday evening this community and Mill Creek district met in the C. M. Hall and presented Garnet with a wrist watch and ring. Garnet thanked all in a fine short speech. The evening was then spent in dancing and games. Von Ribbentrop is said to be seek- ing a villa in Switzerland, his dreams f conquest having turned out to be castles in Spain. EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 2nd PRESERVES and SWEET SPREADS ARE RATIONED BY COUPON The products affected include: Jams, Jellies, Marmalades, Extracted Honey, Comb Honey in Squares, Honey Butter, Maple Syrup, Maple Butter, Maple Sugar, Molasses, Corn Syrup, Cane Syrup, or any blended Table Syrup, Apple Butter or Canned Fruit. On and after Thursday, September 2nd, 1943, it is unlawful for a consumer to purchase any of the above- listed products, except on the surrender of a valid ration coupon. Coupons "D" in Ration Book 3 are to be used for this purpose. Coupon XX D-1" becomes good September 2nd. Starting September 16th, two coupons become good every four weeks. These products are being rationed so that there will be an equal sharing of the available supplies. Persons who do not use the coupons for these products may use them to acquire more sugar in addition to their regular sugar ration and canning sugar allowance.
