I am fine and had a nice trip over, not at all like I though it would be. We lad nice weather and the sea wasn't very rough, although some of the boys were sick one day. We have just ot settled now and I hope soon to be working at my trade. We still have a few weeks of training to pnt in, then we will be seift to a shop or fieldunit. I have seen a lot of country and water lately, but England is the surprise of all. I expected to see bomb craters and destruction all over, but haven't seen much yet. guess some of the towns around the coast have felt most of it, though Things seem to go along here pretty much as they do at home. We have exceptionally good meals. I think they are better than we had in Canada. I think that I a m going to like it here. It seems hard to find much to write about, as everything is being censored. If you see John tell him Dalton Wallace was on the haven't been her* lon$ enough to go very far yet. Well, it will soon be Christmas an* I am sure goifljr to nrlss being wttfc you an, but I will be thinking of yon. We are going to have turkey for Christmas, plum pudding and an egg for breakfasts (imagine an egg for a treat, which it will be). There ! a number of things we have to do without, which we had at home, but nobody is very badly off; in fact we have a ll that is necessary with plenty to spare. Cigaretes are hard to ge.t and are very expensive, so Bill can send me some as soon as possible, and keep sending them regularly a bout 300 every two weeks should be enough. They are one dollar for 300 over there. I only get half my pay over here. The houses here are low and most- ly stone. There are no high build- ings at all, some are four or five but that doesn't seem high.
