Aircraftman Stewart Foster of Treaton spent the week end with his father, Mr. J. A. Foster, and sister, Sadie. The Koek Mills War Workers met at the home of Mrs. Frank Belts on Thursday afternon last, with a good attendance of ladies. Two more quilts were completed for the refugees. Durham spent a couple of days here last week and was a guest at the Partridge home Mr. Charlie 'Williams of Toronto visited with friends here the past week. Mr. Elwood Partridge of Walker- ton spent the week end with his family here. Mr. Arthur Betts of Toronto spent a few days with his parents, Mr and Mrs. Herb Betts, returning to Toronto on Monday. We are sorry to report that Mrs. Jim Russell is t.ot enjoying giooc health at present, but trust she will soon feel much improved. HOLDFAST U. F. W. O. The Holdfast Olub met at the of Mrs. Geo. Fisher on Feb. 4 for their regular monthly meeting, with a good attendance. The roll call was answered by a Valentine verse. The topic "The People of Russia" was given by Mrs. Tucker and a reading was given by Mrs. I. B. Whittaker on "Life Begins at Forty." Mrs. Patterson read one of Miss Macphail letters from the Globe & Mail. The Club decided to hold a euchre and crokinole at the home of Mrs. A. C. Muir, the pro- ceeds to ibe used for war work. A box is to be gathered for the Salva- tion Army at the home of Mrs. Jas. Sinclair on Feb. 27th, and a social tea and produce sale to be held the same day, the proceeds to go to the Red Cross.
