Muir who delighted her audience with a very vivid de- scription of conditions in India. She was presented with a bouquet of flowers at the close of her talk. The occasion was the 60th annivers- ary of continuous leadership of a choir in the service of praise. The event was heightened by the pres- ence of ten present and past members of the Dromore choir who joined fer- vently in the rendering of the dox- ology in anthem form with its Hal- lelujahs and amens. The afternoon was spent conversationally. Our son and three daughters and families were present as also were Messrs. Peter Ramage of Durham and Arthur Ram- age of Thombury. The Dromore choir gave a selection just previous to the seiTnon, the base section tak- ing the melody in the verses revert- ing to their own part in the refrain. Mostly all are through seeding and housecleaning. Mrs. Ramsdell of New York was a pleasant attendant at church as was also Miss Esther Mclnnis and Mr. Alex McLean of Toronto. Mr. Innis McLean assisted in the tenor section of the choir. Miss Alexis McVicar is visiting friends in Toronto. Sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be observed in St. Columba Church on June 5th and on June 24 there will be a garden party. Keep the date open. Mr. George Russell who has been having trouble with his hearing is under a doctor's care in Owen Sound. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Little and family visited recently with Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Fisher and family. The Mount Zion W.A. has decided to hold an ice cream social at their church jhere on June 24th. MAXWELL The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Wilton met in the Orange Hall on Wednesday evening of last week to spend a social time with them tiefore they leave for their new hom« in the town of Arthur, and to express their regret at parting from Mr. and Mrs. Wilton, who have made many friends in the short time they have been with us. Mr. Milton Shouldice read an address and Mr. Angus Morrison presented them with a handsome floor lamp. Mr. Wilton thanked the friends in a short speech. The evening was spent in cards and dancing. Mr. and Mrs. Wilton will be much missed in the community. Mr. Fred Ross left this week for Beardmore, where he has a position with the Northern Electric. The Woman's Association will meet at the home of Mrs. John Stephen on Thursday, June 2nd.
