Genoe made the presen- tation, to which Stella made a very fitting reply. The early part of the evening was spent in dancing and social chat. Lunch was served at midnight. A social evening was held at the home of Mrs. Geo. Snell on Thurs- day of last week for the purpose pf making the draw for the Institute quilt. Community singing was en- joyed and the contest put on by Mrs. Sinclair was won by Mrs. Wright, of Toronto, who was visiting her sister, Mrs. J. K. McLeod. The draw for the quilt, which was made by Kenneth Muir,, resutled in Miss Nellie Genoe being the lucky holder. CURRENT CROP REPORT An average yield of Fall wheat is indicated, although the straw is short. Spring grains are now heading and growth is satisfactory. Roots and canning crops are in healthy condi- tion. Corn was planted under fav- orable conditions and is a good stand. Cutting of alfalfa is general through- out the Province; while of good qual ity the yield is expected to be below average. Pasturage continues ex^ cellent.
