He was taken to Collinfrwood Hospital Tues of last week by Dr. Lindsay and nurse Conn of Feversham. His many friends wish Eddie a speedy recovery. Mrs. Wm. Seniple spent a few days the past week with Mr. and Mrs. B. A. McConnell at Kin>berley. The Ladies Aid here, held their Dec. nieeting on Wed. last at the home ot Mrs. Dave Roberts, the most or part of the time was taken up with the election of new officers for the com- ing year. Following are presidfent Mrs. Isaac Ottewfell, Vice Pres., Mrs Cyrus Short; sec, Mrs. Lome Tupp- ling; Treas., Mrs. Frank Short; and each member answered the roll call presenting each other with a Christ- mas gift. The Rev. Mr. Bushell closed the meetins: with prayer, after which all enjoyed a dainty lunch provided by the hostess. The Jan. meeting to be held at the home of Mrs. Mort Sayers. The Christmas celebrations in the school on Thursday and again in St. Columba United church on Friday evening passed off very pleasingly and satisfactorily in both instances. The ilttle girls' admonishing address to their little dolls, was performed real- istically. The Brittania Drill was well given without a flaw. Mrs. J. C. Harrison presided at the piano very satisfactory. Dialogues were well acted. Miss Sadie Vause gave a lengthy recitation. Santa Claus arrived at Proton Sta- tion last Saturday afternoon in dut time and in good form. The village children were out in full force tr leceive the treat he had for them. May the Santa Claus spirit be with us all the year round. The Sunday school concert and Christmas tree last Thui-sday night was a decided success. The child- ren did their parts well and made a splendid showing in the choruses, etc. The program was a lengthy one, var- ied and interesting, and reflects much credit on Mrs. Archibr'd, the Sunday school superintendent, and Mr. G Littlejohns, the public .school teacher, and their assistants. Besides the numbers by the children and the young people, a men's chorus from Inistioge grave two numbers. The Proton orchestra filled in with theii snappy selections and Miss Ruth Sher- son gave .several piano selections in excellent style. Rev. Mr. Wilkinson occupied the chair. Mr. David McCannell of Ch "ago is at the home of his parent.-; or the Chris-tmas holidays and Mr. Clark Wy\-ille, who has been sailing on the Great Lakes since early spring, has returned home for the winter months.
