It has proven to be an unqualified success in every is-ay. Weather conditions are generally much more favorable at the earlier date than they are a month later. On Monday of last week larger vote was polled than in previous election and more int was evinced by the citizens .' campaign. But one great ad^^ • • • of the earlier date is that our mun- ' icipal affairs, so far as the council, public school board and hydro com- • mission are concerned, are settled be- fore the Christmas holiday season is ushered in. In other words our elec- tion campaign does not interfere with business and business men are not hampered by taking more interest in our civic affairs. As Christmas comes on Sunday this year nominations will be held on the Monday, the day that will be celebrated as Christmas, and elections will take place on the day that will be observed as New Tear's in municipalities that still cling to the old dates. â€" Orangeville Sun.
