Was Very Highly Respected Funeral Took Place Saturday To Guelph Cemetery General regrret was felt in this part last week when it became known that .Alexander Reid, a former highly re- spected resident of Flesherton, had pasesd away in the Guelph hospital an Thursday, December 16th. Mr. Reid had not been well for some time ^nd gave up his grocery business, thinking a rest would bo beneficial' During the past summer he motored to Flesherton and spent a week re- newing old acquaintances in this part. .\bout four weeks ago he suffered a stroke, from which he only partially rallied. He leaves three children: Mrs. J. V. Turner (Margaret), To- ronto; Mrs. (Dr.) Stanley (May) of Ottawa and W'ill in Detroit. His wife, Annie Akins, predeceased him '.wo and one half years ago. The deceased taught school in the Springhill school, two miles south of Flesherton for eighteen years and was a most successful teacher, leav- ing there twenty years ago. The funeral took place on Saturday last and was conducted by his pastor. Rev. Mr. Graham, of the United Church, who had been an intimate | friend from the days when they had ; attended high school together at St. j .Mary's. His three children were present, also a brother, two nephews j and a niece; and Mrs. Claude Akins. i Flesherton. The floral tributes were • beautiful.
