It was their first dijfeat this season. What we want to make reference to was some of the bunk that was passed out by the stireet critics. Tljere was ''wise condemnation of the team. Those with the .loudest mouths couldn't play ping-pong let alone baseball. Our team is not made up of m^rfect ball players. If they were of that class they wouldn't be here. When a team <loes its best and is doing it gratis, why roast the playorvi. Any boob can shoot off hot air. What our boys want is encouragement, not so, ninch when winning, but when losinf^ The ball team like every other sport- ing oreanlr.ation is an asset to the town. It gives publicity. There must be winners and there must be losers. When our boys lose, let us be good sports and not roasters. If we could do better we should apply i<>r a position on the team. We are reminded of a remark nmde by Jim Arnold on the Durham Road. He :aid. in refeiTing to a nasty criticism: "Some people start their tongues go- ing and then walk off leaving them hanging in the air." That is true of those know-all ball critics. â€" ^Kin- cardine Reporter. Si3S0ISi3SI@@ISISiSI^ FALL TERM OPENS Sept 1st al The OWEN SOUND Individual instruction. Business and Shorthand courses.
