Buchanan, who passed away on Mon- day of last week at his home in Tor- onto, took place to the Meaford Road cemetery on Wednesday afternoon c. n the arrival of the noon train from Toronto. The service was hold in the Vandeleur church, and was con- ducted by the pastor Rev. F. N. Bowes assisted by Rev. W. L. Cullis of Ileathcote. Mr. Bowes took for his text, 2nd Cor. 5 and 1, and preached an eloquent sermon, and he and Mr. Cullis paid a splendid tribute to the Worth of the deceased. The floral offerings were very numerous and beautiful, and the large funeral cor- tege showed^ the high esteem in which he was held by all who knew him. The pallbearers were Messrs J. I. Graham, Geo. Wright, Geo. Pritch- ard, Sam Gilbert, Ed Baker, J. J. McGee, Will Hutchinson, and John Flynn. The late Mr. Buchanan was born near Brantford seventy-six year ago and came to this community with his parents. He was a member of Vandeleur chui-ch, and one of its most faithful supporters. For many years he was Supt of Vandeleur Sunday school, and also Bible class teacher and his influence for good in the community is reflected in the lives of ma^y of the young people.
