We regret to have to report the death of little Kenneth McLean, the six year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm McLean, who died on Wed- nesday last, following an operation fur appendicitis in Durham hospital on Sunday, May 17. The little fellow appeared to be making a good recov- ery but Wednesday took a bad turn and passed away. The funeral on Friday to McNeil's cemetery was lar.o:- ely attended. Rev. A.. Sutherland hav- ing charge of the service. The pall- bearers were six young boys, all cousins of the deceased, viz: Innis Mc- Lean, Donnie JIcLean, Xeil McLean. Alroy McLean, Donald Reiley and Wilburt Burnett. The whole-hearted sympathy of the community goes out to the gi;ief-stricken parents and friends, especially so, as the mother and little babe were very low a*^ the time, Mrs. McLean sufferijig from double pneumonia. The'play "Civil Service" presented in Watson's Hall Friday evening by the young people of "Onward Club", O.D.R., was real good and well at- tended. We wish to congratulate all the members of the cast, as there was not a weak spot in it, and as this is their first attempt at putting on a play, much credit is due them. The diffarent numbers seemed to be well chosen for the character they repre- sented, but perhaps we might men- tion as being especially good, Mr. Jack Russell, as "Goldi^Wix", the country boy who <rot a job in the city post office.
