On Tuesday Mrs. Thomas Sled passed away at her home near this village on Sunday morning last at the early age of 49 years, after an extended illness. Mrs. Sled's maiden name was Annie Din- woodie. She was a woman very highly respected in the community and her early demise is a subject of deep regret by a large circle of friends.. Mrs. Sled was. a member of Flesherton Methodist church and the funeral service on Tuesday afternoon was conducted by her pastor, Rev. H. H. Eaton, in the Methodist church, where the remains were taken previ- ous to interment in Flesherton ceme- tery, and at the graveside. The deceased lady was the young- est daughter of the late George Din- woody of Flesherton. One brother and one sister survive â€" Fred in Al- berta and Ida (Mrs. Albert Beecroft) in Montana. Besides her sorrowing husband she leaves three little sons, who will miss the care of a loving mother. Much sympathy is extended to the sorrowing family. J. C. C. Griffiths of Owen Sound. . Out of the nine charter members of the Lodge Mr. Griffiths is the only one living to-day of those who formed the Ladge on January 14th, 1876. He is well knovm by the older citizena of the village as he was in partnership here with S. Damude in the harness making and tanning. Although in the neighborhood of 83 years we are glad to know that Mr. Griffiths is enjoying good health. Ernie was but thirty years of age and was born on the homestead at Rock Mills, where he has lived with his father all his life, his mother dy- ing when he was but a child. Five weeks ago his-father, Jas. Russell, was called to the Great Beyond, leav- in a very lonely home. Little was it thought he would so soon follow.
