It fays a horse drawn vehicle must turn to the right of a beaten path or roadway and permit a motor ear to pass. Failure to do so makes the driver of the former vehicle guilty of negligence iu the opinion of a jury cjmposed largely of farmers at Wood- s'.ock. This verdict was reached after a trial Usting three days. Miss Florence Reid tiled suit against Lant Stephens asking ?.')0C0 damuges for per«onal injur, ies received in a runaway, caused, as she averred, when Stevens drove his car into her buggy when she ignored the repeated sicnals to turn out and give part of the road. As Stevens drove past the bu^jgy the car collided with the wheels of thg former vehicle, the crash inghteuing the horse, which rau away, throwing the occupants of the buggy out. Miss Ueid received injuries which she claims are liernianent. .Aft=r a hard fought tria' the jury decided in favor of the defend- ant, claiming that the plaintiti' was negli- gent ill not surrendering one half of the road. The decision establishes au im- portant precedent, aud one that will be of interest lo every driver, whether of a motor car or a horse drawn vehicle.
