FALE ANAEMIC GIRLS Find New Health Through Dr. Williams' Pink Pills for Pale People. Thre must be no guesswork tn the treatment of pale, anaemic girl. If your daughter is languid, has a pale, callow complexion, if Lort of breath, especially on going upstairs ; if he has palpitation ol the heart, a poor appetite, or a tendency to faint, sh has anaemia which means poverty of the blood. Any delay in treatment may leave her weak and sickly for the rest of her life delay may even result in consumption, that most hopeless of diseases. When the blood is poor and watery, there is only one cer- tain cure that is Dr. Williams' Pink Pills, coupled with nourish- ing food and gentle out-of-door ex- ercise. Dr. Williams' Pink Pills actually make new blood, which flowing through the veins stimu- late the nerves, increase the appe- tite, give brightness to the eye, a glow of health to the cheek, and makes weak, despondent girl.-, full of healthy activity. The case of Miss J. H. LaiftalLe, Sorel, Que., is typical of the cures made by Dr. Williams' Pink Pills. She says: "I was weak and all run down. My face was pale and covered with pimples. My lip* were pale. I suf- fered from pains in all my limbs, which would at times be swollen. I was hardly ever free from head- aches, and I found work about the house a burden, ae the least effort left me fatigued and breathless. I had no appetite, and notwithstand- ing that I was constantly doctoring I seemed to be growing worse all the time. One day mother said that he thought I ought to try Dr. Wil- liams' Pink Pills, and I decided to do eo. I eoon discovered that I had found the right medicine, and after using nine boxes I was once more enjoying the best of health, and I have not been unwell a day since." You can get Dr. Williams' Pink Pills from any medicine dealer or by mail at 60 cents a box or six boxe* for $2.60 from The Dr. Wil- liams' Medicine Co., Brockville, Ont. ABDUL HAMID'S QUEER PRIZE Ex-Sultan Got* $26,000 in Will to Build Peace Temple. Abdul Hamid, ex-Sultan of Tur- key, comes into possession of $26,- 000, given him by a German ad- mirer for the purpose of erecting a temple of peace in Constantinople. Of all men in the world, Abdul would probably be the last to lay the cornerstone for such an edifice. Two years ago at Leipsic a curi- ous old man by the name of Zoe- liner died, leaving hia fortune, $26,000. to the ex-Sultan with the above stipulation. He evidently had forgotten that he had a niece in very poor circumstances, who was jut able to make her living by her work. She brought suit to break the will, but the Supreme Court of Leipsic ruled against her. The ex-Sultan gets the money then, and one wonders when he will lay the first stone of his temple of uni- versal peace. PRINCE ALBERT A SAILOR. King George's Second Son Leaves on Six Months' Voyage. Prince Albert, the second son of King George, sailed from Devon- port recently aboard the training hip Cumberland on a six months' voyage. He will go first to Tener- Iffe, Canary Islands, and then to the West Indies. He will arrive in Porto Rico on March 18, in Jamaica on March 22, at Havana on April 3, and at Hamilton, Bermuda, on Ap- ril 10. From the latter place the ship will go to Gibraltar, Malta and the Mediterranean. It was planned at first to give Prince Albert a special cabin aboard the ship, but the King promptly vetoed this. He declared that his son must be treated as an ordinary cadet. For this reason he travelled from London with fifty or sixty other cadets, carrying his hammock and handling his own baggage. Some of his comrades tried to screen the Prince from the camera men, but Albert told them not to trouble themselves about it. He went aboard the ship in the most formal manner. Capt. Smith received the cadets in the order of seniority. IF YOUR BABY IS SICK GIVE BABY'S OWN TABLETS The little ills of babyhood and RED FIAO IK THE LORDS. Charles Lister, heir of Lord Ribblesdale, is a Socialist, and BO also is the Countess of War- wick. Not long ago the Duehesii of Sutherland confessed to a be- lief in Socialism, and now Earl Russell has join- ed the Fabians. Earl Russell is not a sentimental youth who has been seized with a sudden fad for Socialism. He is now 47 years of age. It was 34 Earl Russell, years since he succeeded his grandfather, the great Lord John Russell, so that he has been in the peer business for quite a long time. He is related to both Lord Ribblesdale and the Stan- leys of Alderley, and is a member of the great house of Bedford. In his time Earl Russell haa play- ed many parts. He has served in the army, studied electrical engin- eering, is a barrister, and has given proof of literary abilities. He has served on the London County Council, and is credited with the re- sponsibility for some of the most advanced proposals made by the recent Divorce Commission. Earl Russell has declared himself in favor of the nationalization of land, and this declaration has ex- cited very great interest, in view of the fact that he himself owns land in Ireland, and his distinguished relative, the Duke of Bedford is one of the wealthiest land-owners in the world. We may yet be favor- ed with the spectacle of Earl "Rus- sell vigorously supporting Mr. Lloyd George in his forthcoming land campaign, and raising aloft the red flag in the House of Lords. He has for long been regarded as the "bad boy" of the ducal family, and some of his peers would dearly like to convert him to more ortho- dox views or quietly suppress him. Amongst the items of news con- tained in the monthly reports on the primary schools of the German Empire is the following: In one district the local authorities have decided to provide the children with felt shuns to be worn during school hours. This is at Pollwitz, near Glogau. The medical officer had made several complaints as to the general inefficiency of the foot- wear of the children, and had pointed out that it meant that the children had often to sit through the day in winter with their feet thoroughly wet. With the equip- ment of fielt shoes the authorities have given orders that the other shoes shall be properly dried during the lesson time. "When one comes to live as long as I liave," says Sir George Bird- wood, who has just celebrated his eightieth birthday, "any fear of death has vanish ed." Mrs. Julien Painchaud is the person cured and she states without hesitation that she found her cure in Dodd's Kidney Pilk. My eyes had dark circles under them and were puffed and swollen. I was so ill I could hardly drag myself around to do my housework. "A neighbor advised me to try Dodd's Kidney Pills, and I found relief in the first box. Six boxes made me perfectly well." In Australia the Lord Mayor of Sydney, stung by the reproach that his city is the "dirtiest in the south ern hemisphere," has organized a "special patrol force" of a hundred gigantic Australians to capture citi- zens offending against the municipal by-laws for the preservation of good order, neatness and cleanli- ness. He mustered them the other day in the yard of the city hall. "Act," he said, "without fear or favor. Never mind whether the offender is well dressed or shabbily dressed. Do your duty. Many of our citizens have fallen into dirty habits, and we have to teach them to be clean and tidy." Mlnard'i Liniment Cures Diphtheria. A Terrible Experience. "You just bet I had a terrible experience," he acknowledged. "My experience was worse than that of the man who wrote 'Water, water everywhere, but not a drop to drink.' With me it was bites, bites everywhere, but not a bite to eat!" Lord Kitchener in currying out an ertensive scheme of road making in Egypt. Some time ago he ordered a road to be made between Cairo and Alexandria, and now it is an- nounced that he is studying a plan for covering the country with a complete series of main roads. These will be undertaken by the Government itself, while minor thoroughfares will be laid by the Provincial Councils. Apart from the military standpoint, such a sys- tem of roads will be of immense commercial value, as it will open up districts neglected through laek of communications; it will further develop others that are at present dependent solely either on the river or the railwav for transport, and it will give the country an additional attraction in the eyes of the tour- ist, who at present can rarely get off the beaten track or obtain any other view of Egyptian life than that to be had from the train win- dow or steamer deck. Aa things stand to-day tourists can motor from Alexandria to Cairo, the road being practically finished. Indeed, s<i near completion is it, and so much is expected to be made of it, that the automobile clubs have ob- tained permission from the Minis- try of Public Works to erect indi- cation and danger signposts all along the route. The day may not be far distant when tourists may be able to motor from the landing stage at Alexandria to the First Cataract about GOO miles.
