Miss Belle, attended the funeral of their uncle, Mr. John Dean, at Oweu Sound, on Thursday last. Rev. H. E. Wellwood and Miss Flor- ence Thurston attended ac Executive meeting of the Ep worth Lengue t Mark- dale on Monday. The Weekly Sun ii.i* published i Yusus Almanac and haudy atlaa of the world," which contain, a lot of valuable information in concise form and a Urge number of limps. It is esrtecially valu- able to the agriculturist. A public meeting id called for 8 o'clock Friday evening this week in the town hall for the purpose discussing thu sidewalk problem and getting the vuice of citizens ; as to the :tdvisabilityof issuing debentures to complete the laying of cement , sidewalks in the village The sum required would be $.>200, embracing 22,128 square feet four foot walks. Beautiful warm rains on Saturday and Sunday spurred vegetation to ft pretty fast gait' but on Monday these were followed by much colder weather i and an all-day snow storm that checked growth for the time beiiifj. Mott, farmer* are pretty well through seeding, having had ideal weather fur the purpose last week. After this last blast from the north we may look with conlideace for something better. Sunday was, we believe, the first tittie that "Mother's Day" has been observed in Hesherton, when Rev. H. E. Vellwood preached a sermon suited to the occasion in the evening, to a con- gregation the most of whom wore the emblematic white catnation or lily. The observance of this day originated only five years ago with a Philadelphia lady, and already i? observed throughout the entire English-speaking world. Blakelry it Boyd's sash and door factory had an extremely narrow escape from destruction by tire one night last week, which started from spoutanoous combustion in the chopping mill among a combination of shavings, flour and oil. The tire was noticed by Mr. Herb Smith and another party while passing about D.30 p. m. With a Hitle effort -the Bre i was extinguished After breaking in the door, which was locked. The chopper had not recently been used. A few moment* more and the tire would have been bejond control. Rev. Mr. Million of the Presbyterian church has not yet decided to obey the Scriptural injunction found in CJenebis ii-24. He will spend the summer t the manse in single blessedness and do his own cooking. Upon this decision be- coming known the ladies of the con- gregation decided that as he was taking up housekeeping nothing shore of a bridal gift was appropriate aud a "Kitchen shower" the most appropriate of all. Therefore they hied themselves to the manse on Friday evening last and the din of pots, puns and kettles was heard in the land accompanied by the tender notes of a gramophone. Mr. Milliqan is H rather energetic gentleman mid no doubt a portion nt least of his ppare moments during the summer will spent in studying cook books and wash- ing dishuH. If ho 11 like most bachelors wi- know, thu latter occupation will form but, an infinitesimal portion of the time spent. Aud this- in leap year, too ! On H recent Sunday farmer living not forty miles from Flesherton absent- mindeJly hitched up his team and si tried plowing. When two neighbors came alon a couple of hours afterward and in- formed him how the calendar stood theie was blank amazeiflent in concentrated form exhibited on the goud farmer's face. He was not long in putting away his secular tools and brushing himself up for church, followed by profound medita- tion on the mutability of mankind and the treacherous nature of his memory. Troupe, brnkenian, wat killed ut Mitchell. Cougtis, Colds Bronchitis If there !s an ailment m the throat or chest, it is surely essential that the remedy be conveyed direct to the af- I'ected part. It's because the healing vapor of Catarrhozone is breathed into the sore. Irritated throat and bron- chial tubes, because its balsamic fumes kill the germs and destroy tl)e cause of the trouble. These are the reasons why Catarrhozone never yet failed to cure a genuine case of Catarrh. Asth- ma. Bronchitis, or Throat Trouble. The wonderfully soothing- vapor of Catarrhozone instantly reaches the furthest recesses of the lunjrs. pro- duces a healing, curative effect that is impossible with a tablet or liquid, which goes merely to the stomach, and fails entirely to help the throat or lungs. To permanently cur^. your winter Ills, your coughs, sneezing, ana Ca- tarrh, by all means use a tried and proven remedy like Cat:rrho>ion. But beware of the substitutes and imitator.
