The fire broke out about 8.30 and de- stroyed both of the Canadian Pacific Railway Company'n elevators on the barbor-front, the enginehouse, light- house, several smaller buildings, an^ a number of railway cars. Tho loss will be in the neighborhood of 81,000,000. The cost of the elevators is estimated at J75,000. They contained about 1,000,<JOO bushels of grain, valued at 8700,000. Most of the grain belonged, it is reported to James Richard.son aud Sons of Kingston, Out. The fire is supposed to have .started in a lei; of the ele'ator.
