The hall was nicely {decorated with green bough* •nd Union Jacks, and the tables were something grand, beautifully decor- ated with flowers.and one special decorat- ing touch for this time of the year was all the salads and meat phvtks were gar- nished with lettuce leaves, which made the tables very attractive. They were provided by our member, Mrs. Geo. Burk. which shows the interest she lias in this organization. Cooking was no scarcity and over eighty gues's sat down and partook very heartily. The program WM as usual of the very bent of talent The Pros., Mrs. Gamey, took the chair and presided in a most able manner, and m»ve a report of the convention held at Chatsworlh, which was appreciated by all. The Sec , Miss L. Guy, thou gave a short address on the great work of the Women's Institute, some of its object* and benefits and of the grant necessity of Women's Institutes. Speeches wore given by Rev "Mr. Balant.yne, Dr. Bond and Mr. Andrew. An excellent reading was given by Mrs. Down. Recitations by Mrs. (Rev.) Stanley and Miss Spofford were rendered in such :i way that will be remembered by all who ho:i'-d them.
