The blank pages of this book were ruled off in ledger form and each account headed with the name of a street car route in Toronto. For inntance there was "Church Street" with a debit on the left band side and a credit on the ri«ht. "Bloor and McCaul" the same and so on over the entire system. Evidently when the ovner of this book paid a fate he charged >t up against the car line he patronized, and whenever he saved h faEe ho credited himself with five cents. At first gKnce it might appear that the owner of this book was in the habit o( dodging the conductor's box, but this was not the 'use. The fact is the fares wore saved by riding a bicycle instead of paying the street car compony for comings and goings and the fares were contrll>uted on rainy days when the wheeling was unpleasant. On August 6th 1905 he made au entry ngaiost "Bluor and McCaul" as follows : "One fare â€" last of quart-er'a wortn of tickets bouijlit June 2nd." The total of fares nnpaid amount- ed to nearly thirty dollars in seven monthp. Our Clubbing List ^Advance, •Herald and •Toronto World, daily $3 25 Toronto Daily News .
