The Boyne river through the valley used to be one of the best of these streams, but this is now owned by W. A. Sproule attended a meeting of directors of the Huron & Ontario Rail- way Company held in Walkerton on Fri- day last. This meeting was called to ratify an agreement to extend the bond- ing privilopes of the road, the object being to make it pos-^ible to build a steam r-;ad instead of electric. Mr. May, the Montreal contractor, appears to mean business, and a strong feeling exists that the road will be built. The first section to be built, according to the contract, is that from Walkerton to Flesherton. Mr. Slay's option expires in July and a com- mencement will have to be made before that time, otherwiso a new company (will probably be in the field, which, it is said, is being backed by the C. P. R. Th» prospects are of the briaht-est that there will be something doing in railway build- ing here during the coming summer. The Charlton line souih is also said to be among the sure the things.
