Post Office Robbery at Thornbury.

The postoffice at Thornbury was robbed of a number of registered letters containing a large amount of money, between Saturday night, the [?] Oct., and Sunday morning. The robbery was at once reported to Mr. [?], Postoffice Inspector, Barrie, [?], along with Mr. Jas. Henderson, Assistant Postoffice Inspector, proceed. [?] Thornbury and made a thorough investigation of the robbery. The result was that they were led to suspect a young man named Fred. Hutchinson, telegraph operator, the telegraph and postoffice at Thornbury being together. Yesterday they again visited Thornbury and completed their labours, when stronger suspicions seemed to have rested on young Hutchinson, and they expected that he would shortly attempt to skip out. To-day he acquainted his employer that he had received a telegram from St. Catherines that his sister was dying, and accordingly took the train for that city. On the train at Allandale station Mr. Spry took him in charge and had him committed to Barrie gaol, where he was searched and the greater amount of the money found on his person.
