The council met as a Court of Revision at 10 o'clock a.m. on the 30th May, 1885. Members all present. Dunham Martin's assessment reduced $500; the assessment of John Henning & Sons was changed and reduced $100; Thomas Sparling, reduced $100; Mrs. Davies, reduced $100; James McGiir's assessment confirmed; Josiah Sanders' assessment confirmed; John Plewis, reduced $150; Jas. Stewart's assessment confirmed; Jas. Myles, reduced $100; S. & J. Wiley, reduced $200; N. 1/2 lot 3, con. 2, assessed to Wm. Humberson; N. 1/2 lot 5, con.9, assessed to Robert Erskine; S. 3/4 lot 9, con. 9, assessed to J. Erskine & Robert Erskine, Jr.; N. 1/4 lot 9, con. 9, assessed to Alex. Lyons; W. 1/2 lot 7, con. 9, assessed to Henry Hurd; E. 1/2 lot 23, con. 2, assessed to Wm. Kerr; the name Jas. Stephens placed on the roll as farmer's son; W. 1/2 lot 15, con. 9, assessed to Daniel Silverthorn. The court adjourned until 10 o'clock A.M. on Saturday, 13th June next. The council met for the transaction of general business at 3 o'clock p.m. Members all present. Minutes of last session of council read and confirmed. The Reeve and Deputy-Reeve were appointed to a commitee to correspond with Wm. Kinner in reference to a road given or sold to Mrs. Egan, and passing through Mr. Kinner's farm. Moved and seconded to divide the township into four parts or divisions in order to expend an equal amount of money in each division, but was lost. The Treasurer was ordered to remit as follows, viz: To J. W. Grier, $2.55, advertising Court of Revision; Messrs. Creasor & Morrison, $5, legal advice; T. J. Rorke, $4, making deeds of road allowances; the Reeve $6, assisting surveyor. The Reeve's orders were issued on the Treasurer to pay as follows, viz: Thos. B. Caruthers, $2.25, building culvert; Robert Clark, $2, repairing culvert; Christopher Knott, $8.25, building bridge; Thomas Rose, $2, assisting surveyor; W. C. Charters, $11, work on 18 and 19 side road, con. 3; Henry Hurd, $11.25, to pay men for road work; John Cook, $2, road work; Henry Hurd, $4, assisting surveyor; John Pritchard, $12, building culvert; John Clugston, $80, salary as assessor for the current year. On motion being made and seconded the council adjourned until 2 o'clock p.m. on Saturday, the 18th June next, and then to meet for the transaction of general business. Robert Dunlop, Tp. Clerk.
