Ceylon U.F.O. Celebrate Miss McPhail's Victory
The Ceylon U. F. O. club entertained themselves and their friends at an oyster supper at the Park House in Flesherton on the evening of December 9. About 400 people joyfuliy[sic] ate the very delicious supper provided by the families of the members of the club. A spirit of sociability was abroad and every one was in good humor. After all had eaten Mr. Harry Shaw called the meeting to order from the stairway in the hall and in his able way made a short, effective chairman's address, reviewing his connection with the U. F. O. and the great need of all Canadians, both urban and rural, working together to improve Canada, our home land. He then called on Dr. Geo. M. Leeson, M.P.P., who in a short but well connected address emphasized his desire to keep in close touch with the people and to work at all times to perfect democracy. Dr. Leeson is a very modest man, and if is only those who know him personally who know his true worth.
Agnes C. McPhail, M. P. elect, was the last speaker and briefly outlined the National Policy of the Progressives, thanked the electors for their wonderful support and promised to serve truly.
Music and dancing brought the joyous occasion to a close at 12 o 'clock. Mr Thos. Sled, President, and Roy H.Piper, secretary, and the whole club, are to be congratulated on the success of that evening—Com.- Featured Link
