Description
Not much is known about this particular photo. However, you can get an idea of what the ironwork installed on the CPR bridge, built later,over the Big Pic River near Heron Bay, Ontario would have looked like. Because of trouble caused by unstable banks, it took two years to complete the Nipigon River Bridge. Troops en route to the northwest bypassed the uncompleted bridge by marching over the ice of Nipigon Bay.
