Description
Originally, water for the town had to be drawn from the lake. It needed to be heavily chlorinated. Later water from an artesian well, behind the town was found to be clean, safe and provided a sufficient supply for all the town's needs. In 1957 a new 208,000 gallon water tank was erected in the town of Marathon.
