Snowplane at Beardmore

Residents of Beardmore Ontario pose beside a Snowplane. Snowplanes were the invention of Karl Lorch Of Spy Hill, Saskatchewan. The machines were propeller driven, could carry two to six people, and glided over snow on skis. They were used in rural areas by doctors, mail carriers, and others who needed to access isolated areas in winter.
