- Description
- By the end of 1948, Terrace Bay consisted of 230 homes, equipped with hydro, water and sewer. Telephone calls could be made from a phone booth located at the corner of Hudson and Selkirk. Roads were rough and ungraded, surrounded by sand and brush. In December of 1948, the Hotel Terrace officially opened, even though the highway was not yet complete. The residents of Terrace Bay went to South Camp for medical attention, church services, mail, banking and recreation.
