- The Marion Steam Shovel loads crushed rock into boxcars, for transport to another area on the railway line. The rocks were used to build solid foundations in the areas that were sinking due to muskeg. This photo was taken by Gustave Linde during the construction of the Trans Continental Railway, in the Rat Portage (Kenora) area of Northwestern Ontario.
