- Description
- A foresters' picnic along the Port Arthur Duluth Western Railway during the 1890's. The tripod in the photo belongs to J.F.Cooke. The picnic would end up at Stanley Park, near Kakabeka Falls. The train would push the open cars instead of pulling them so the ashes from the locomotive would stay out of peoples eyes and clothing. A complete day would be at least twelve hours from departure to arrival.
