- An advertisement placed in 'Algoma West: its Mines, Scenery and Industrial Resources.' published in 1887. The silver mining boom in nearby mining centres brought prosperity to Port Arthur. Stables such as this one provided horses, wagons, carriages and drivers for visitors who need transportation to Rabbit Mountain, or to the railway station or steamboats.
