- A worker searches through the twisted wreckage of metal, concrete and wire left after the explosion of grain elevator Pool #5 on August 7, 1945 in Current River. The explosion was caused by grain dust combustion. The top four floors of the elevator were destroyed. Eighteen men were killed, or died later, and thirty-seven men were injured.
