- Black and white photo of a large crane moving fill. Concrete aggregates were produced from Lake Superior sand and gravel dredged from the lake bottom and brought to the site on scows. The contractor set up a site for the screening and separation of sand and gravel. The materials were then weighed and taken in trucks to the mixing plant where cement and water were added.
