- Description
- The Lake Superior Regiment leaving Port Arthur on October 10, 1940. Crowds line Red River Road, called Arthur Street at the time as the soldiers with the Lake Superior Regiment march towards the train station on Water Street. The first section of the regiment left the Armoury and paraded to Red River Road (then called Arthur Street), down to Cumberland Street, then south to Pearl Street and the waiting trains. The soldiers were led by the Regimental Band. Soldiers from the Fort William regiments assembled at McKellar Park and paraded through Fort William streets before being brought to Port Arthur by way of street cars. They were led by the City Brass Band and the Girls Pipe Band.
