- Description
- An early photograph of the Prince Arthur Hotel showing the beautiful lawns, shrubbery and pergolas on the lake side of the hotel. The Prince Arthur Hotel was built in 1911. Note: at the time this photograph was taken, the Bank of Nova Scotia had offices in the hotel. Early visitors to the lakehead would often arrive by steamship or by rail, and disembark at the stations near the Prince Arthur. Entrance to the hotel was a mere stroll through the terraced lawns to the lakeside entrance way.
