Description
Black and white photo of trolley car on Cumberland Street in Port Arthur, Ontario. Pickard Block is at the centre to the right. This was the first municipally-owned electric railway in Canada. With the end of the silver boom of the 1880's, Port Arthur citizens decided to build a streetcar line to link them with the business district of Fort William and the CPR rail yards.
