- The Fort William Public Library's prize winning float, parked in front of the entrance to the Fort William Public Library on Brodie Street. Celebrations were in honor of the Jubilee (60 year anniversary) of Confederation. The parade itself was about one and a half miles long. Prizes were given for best civic, historical, international, fraternal or union floats. The Library won the prize for the best civic float. Individuals on the float include: Elsie Bergland, R. Philpot, B. O'Brien, R. Ohlgren, Mary Tocheri. The banner on the side of the float reads: "Books are Keys to Wisdom's Treasure".
