- A photograph showing how the McKellar Hospital looked in 1906. A temporary annex had been added to house patients during the typhoid epidemic of 1906. The annex was built, mostly by volunteer labour, and ready in seven days., The cornerstone for the John McKellar Memorial Hospital was laid on Oct. 10th, 1902 by Miss Mary McKellar. By June 25th 1903 the hospital was ready for occupation with a staff of six.
