Description
'The heavy steam drills used at Howey Mine were transported 135 miles from the railroad at Hudson, Ontario to Red Lake, by teams of horses hauling sleds, carrying three ton loads. Forty percent of this load would be oats and hay for the horses and food and cooking utensils for the drivers.'
