- Howey Gold Mine from the shore of Red Lake in 1937. Over 92 percent of Red Lake's gold production in 50 years came from the equilateral triangle with sides three miles long and included Balmertown, Cochenour and Red Lake. Howey Gold Mines Ltd. was part of this triangle and grossed 12 million(in millions of dollars)during their operation.
