(more pictures inside) Reeve Ziegler seeking re-election By Rob Cotton The News Incumbent Jim Ziegler announced last week that he will be running for Reeve of Terrace Bay in this fall's municipal election. Ziegler said he wants to fol- low through with those pro- jects started by the current Township Council. "I feel we have started a lot of important projects and the results are now beginning to show," he said. Tourism has been a prime project for council, he said, and some new businesses have come into Terrace Bay because of our commitment. "There is now a snowmobile dealer, a new flower shop and Tomat's restaurant. I think it will grow from there." New acts of former provin- cial government, such as the Police Services Act and the Freedom of Information Act, are now being implemented and Ziegler feels continuity at the municipal level is important at this time. "I feel that it is important that we have some experience there," he said. Ziegler said he has enjoyed giving service to the communi- ty. Part of the Reeve's job, he said, is to help people with any problem they might have. "It's my job to get them in touch with people who can help or help them myself. I enjoy that." Another project coming up is the ski hill. "We helped with the golf course and that has paid off," Ziegler said, "I feel the ski hill will be the same." Ziegler will be seeking his second term as Reeve. He was a councilor for three years before taking the Reeve's office in the last municipal election.
