A letter from the National President Lucille Cullen, was read, also one from Diocesan President Josie Carniato and Diocesan Director Father Murtagh. | Marg gave her report on the Advent Celebration held on Dec. 2 beginning with a Candlelight Service in the church then a pot luck super in the Parish Hall followed by a penny auction and Carols by St. Martin's School Children. The convenors reports were heard from Lillian for Christian Family Life and stressed the need for help in the Alliance for Life. Marilyn, Education, reported the sale of Christmas Seals for the Holy Childhood. was successful. Also the profit from the penny auction will be donated to the same. Shacyn our Historian is still busy with the albums. Fern gave her report for the month of November. Ev gave her Bazaar Report, reporting once again a very'successful event. Plans are underway for the 1991 Bazaar; someone is needed for Convenor, many of the ladies have already volunteered to look after the tables held previously. St. Martin's C.W.L. will support the Pregnancy Support Friendship program. Kathleen reminded convenors annual reports are due in February. Everyone is reminded to save Canada Packer labels, see Anna for more information. Lillian and Marg attended a work shop in Thunder Bay in November for Development and Peace. Solidarity Sunday this year is March 17. More information will follow. Mary Matys is to be congratulated on the beautiful Nativity Scene displayed in the North of Superior Board Office Window over the Christmas season, and other occasions. Father Campbell urged everyone to participate in the Prayer Vigil for Peace in the Gulf held Tue, Jan. 15.at St. Martin's Church. The meeting closed with Prayers for Peace followed by coffee and lunch. Light the Christmas Tree Project This year's "Light the Christmas Tree" Project was a big success for the McCausland Hospital with total «monies raised being over $4,500.00.
