On Friday, August 11th a sig- nificant discovery was made by Minnova's surface exploration team. At the Pic Lake Zone location, about two kilometres southwest of the Winston headframe, the discovery of massive sulphides was found. Drill WL67 intersected 13.4 meters true thickness (17.5 hori- zontal thickness) of sulphides at an average grade of 2.6% copper, 25.0% zinc, 101.6 g/t silver and 0.4 g/t gold. This intersection occurs at a vertical depth of 1050 below the surface. Prior to this date, drill inter- sections were consistently less than 2 m wide and, therefore, the zone was not economic. The Minnova mine is 740 metres deep at the bottom of the shaft.
