McCausland Auxiliary By Gertrude Cotton Public'Relations Elaine Mannisto chaired a brief meeting of the Auxiliary to the McCausland Hospital Monday evening, following a delightful dinner wind-up at the Serendipity in Rossport. The years of Executive work and devotion to the Hospital Auxiliary by Norma Crockford were recognized as a letter was read, informing the Aux. mem- bers and a very surprised Norma, she would be awarded the Life Membership at the Annual Hospital Auxiliary Association of Ontario Convention. This will take place November 28th in Toronto's Royal York Hotel. A motion was approved to purchase a Laparoscope by the Auxiliary. This will be for use by visiting Gynecologists. President Elaine will present the Auxiliary Scholarship to a Lake Superior High School stu- dent at the Graduation exercises Tuesday evening. This Scholarship goes to someone pur- suing a career relating to medicine. It was reported the Father's Day tray favors created by sever- al of the members were a big suc- cess with patients and staff. Fifteen members and volun- teers enjoyed the luncheon at the Red Dog last week. Heather DeCal will write the Hospital Administrator expressing the appreciation of those attending. This luncheon afforded many the opportunity of meeting other vol- unteers for the first time. The ladies agreed to purchase and make up environmentally safe shopping bags under direc- tion of Marg Gander. These will be sold at the Fall Fair. Members were reminded they will need forty-five dozen muffins for the Fair. Elise Kenny suggested some work sessions throughout the summer to make Christmas Crafts.
