By Angie Saunders The News The grand opening of the Canada Employment Centre for Students took place Wednesday, June 20th in Terrace Bay at the Rec Centre. Jill Marcella, Student Placement Officer for the Centre, has been working at the office since May 31st to help students . find jobs in the areas of Terrace Bay, Schreiber, Rossport, Pays Plat, and Jackfish Lake. Elementary, High school, and university students can go to the office at the Rec Centre to fill out a Student Registration Card. These cards help Jill refer the stu- dent to a prospective employer based on the student's age, inter- ests, and job experience. Jill said that she usually refers three or four students to each employer. The office in Terrace Bay is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 5:00 with the exception of on Tuesday, when she is Schreiber at the Rec Centre. Jill, a 20-year old student wh just finished her first year of A Studies at the University c Guelph, hopes to transfer to th field of Gerentology, which is th study of the aged.
