Parents note: This movie is more graphic than the original we remember and could be unsettling to young children, but it is defi- nitely a lot better than the slice and dice movies that generally : a clone sequels. Rated 'R' I give By Carolyn Williams this movie a9 1/2. Hello friends and neighbors. This is the debut of the Video Review. I hope this column will help you in your quest for a good movie. This column is a personal opinion and does not reflect the opinions of any video rental establishment. This week I am going to review- "The Blob II" and "Young Guns". "The Blob II"- I enjoyed this . picture. There was suspense, dan- ger, and romance with a slight twist on the good girl/bad guy angle. Filled with great special effects, the ending sent chills up my back. There was no connection to the original "Blob", which starred a young Steve McQueen, except for the blob itself. But in this case, that was not a problem. "Young Guns"- I am not ususally a fan of westerns, but this one caught my fancy. I enjoyed the Billy-the-Kid story- line which told the old tale in a new way. I never thought that possible. The filmwork was very true- to-life with the cowboys actually getting as dirty as in real life. I liked the fact that it starred so many of today's young perform- ers. Kiefer Sutherland, Charlie Sheen, and Emilio Esteves, all show that they have not rested on their father's fame, but have developed their own talents. The ending is enjoyable because of its summation of all the character's lives. This movie is suitable for all. Rated 'R' I give ita 9.
