No dog is allowed more than five points towards their champi- onship at each show. When a judge examines my dog, a Labrador, he is looking for a strongly built, short coupled, very active dog. He should be fairly wide over the loins, and strong and muscu- lar in the hind quarters. The coat should be close, short, dense, and free from feather. The head should be wide with a slight stop i.e. the brow should be slightly pronounced, so that the skull is not absolutely in a straight line with the nose. Never tie a dog up using a choke collar.. They should be checked periodically to make sure they have not broken their chain. A few dogs have been killed by cars in the past month, and one dog strangled after his chain broke and became caught in some brush. The best solution is to build or purchase a dog run for you pet. If you must tie him use clothesline since it is stronger than chain. IN MEMORIAM KODILA - Mr. Harold Joseph Kodila of Kelowna B.C. passed away on Thursday May 17, 1990, at the age of 57 years. He was born in Port Arthur Ontario, February Pa 1933. Predeceased by his parents, Father Joseph Kodila, Mother Mary Horvath and a brother. He is survived by his loving wife Lucille; a daughter, Jennifer of Kelowna; two sons, Greg of Terrace Bay, Ontario; Guy of Cranbrook, B.C.; two sisters, Albina (Gerri) Fell of Nanoose, B.C.; Mary Slonchka of Toronto; niece, Joanne McKee of Nanoose, B.C.; nephew, Patrick McKee of Thunder Bay.
